Ronan the beat-keeping sea lion at UC Santa Cruz

UC Santa Cruz researchers have trained a California sea lion to move its head in time to rhythmic sounds. This marks the first non-human mammal that’s shown the ability to keep a beat, according to Peter Cook of the UCSC psychology department.

The video footage is incredibly cool.
