This is one of the coolest things I’ve heard of in awhile.
Apparently there’s been an invasion of plastic flamingos in an Aptos neighborhood.
“I loved it,” said Judy Allen, who’s front yard was recently covered with 30 pink plastic flamingos. “I just looked out my window one morning and realized I’d been flocked. It was so cool.”
The “flocks” would appear overnight, remain for a couple of days, then reappear in another front yard within the Blue Pacific Mobile Home Park on Mar Monte Drive. Residents say they got a kick out of following the flock and trying to predict where it would appear next.
A local woman, Rebecca Sutton, purchased the birds to cheer herself up after the April bombings at the Boston Marathon.
The pink plastic flamingos amused her so much that she and a friend decided to start “flamingo bombing” other people’s yards within the mobile home park.
