Aptos Street BBQ hosts tap takeover Tuesday

January 31, 2014

Here’s a little tidbit from Santa Cruz News’ official beer correspondent, Tom Lopez:

Aptos Street BBQ  is hosting another craft beer tap take over this coming Tuesday, Feb. 4. This time around, the restaurant will feature Tyler Davin-Moore of Oskar Blues Brewery.

For those of you who don’t know, Oskar Blues, a Colorado-based brewery out of Longmont, were one of the first craft breweries to begin offering canned beers. Starting out brewing in a basement then going on to become pioneers in the industry, their cans and kegs have found their way to Santa Cruz County. Tuesday, they will be given a proper coming out party with their flagship Dale’s Pale Ale -a classic pale ale/India Pale Ale hybrid; Mamas Little Yella Pils, a small-batch pilsner based on a traditional Bavarian style; Old Chub, a Scotch-style ale; and Ten FIDY, an Imperial stout with nuances of chocolate and light roast clocking in at a whopping 10% abv. Hands down, it’s one of the most solid Imperial stouts out there —IF you are lucky enough to find it.
So if you’ve got the time, get on over to Aptos and grab a pour of Ten FIDY,  meet the guys and grab some swag. I know what I will be drinking on Tuesday evening…do you?
Aptos Street BBQ is located at 8059 Aptos St. in Aptos,  near the Aptos St Station complex off of Soquel Drive. The event will run from 5 to 9 p.m.
